Evergreen Hong Kong Starter Program
To help overseas Filipino domestic helpers integrate more smoothly into Hong Kong households, we are progressively developing the Evergreen Hong Kong Starter Program.
Conducted in the Philippines by experienced trainers with extensive overseas domestic work experience, the programme is specifically designed to prepare candidates for employment in Hong Kong. It provides practical guidance on Hong Kong family culture, employers' expectations, household responsibilities, and daily family routines, enabling helpers to be better prepared before they arrive in Hong Kong.
Through this programme, we aim to enhance each helper's readiness for employment, facilitate a smoother transition into their new role, and promote a positive and long-lasting employer-helper relationship.
Programme Curriculum:
Hong Kong Household Simulation Training
Helpers participate in practical simulation exercises designed to replicate the daily routines of a Hong Kong household, including time management, household scheduling, and prioritisation of domestic duties.
Hong Kong Household Cleaning & Organisation Standards
Helpers are introduced to the cleaning and housekeeping standards commonly expected by Hong Kong families, covering bathroom sanitation, kitchen organisation, laundry care, and effective home organisation techniques.
Basic Hong Kong Home Cooking Skills
The programme familiarises helpers with commonly used ingredients and everyday cooking methods in Hong Kong households, including steaming, stir-frying, soup preparation, and the cooking of simple home-style meals.
Infant & Childcare and Home Safety Awareness
Helpers receive basic training in infant and childcare, together with essential home safety practices and fundamental emergency response knowledge to promote a safe family environment.
Fundamental Elderly Care Knowledge
The course provides an introduction to elderly care, including daily caregiving responsibilities, safety awareness, and the basic knowledge required to support households with elderly family members.
Hong Kong Working Culture & Employer Expectations
Helpers gain an understanding of Hong Kong family culture, workplace etiquette, employers' expectations, communication practices, and common household working routines, helping them adapt more confidently and effectively to their future employment.
